Vignettes

Vignettes in film and theatricality are conceived as short or concise incidents that provide intensive insight into a personality or circumstance. In photography, vignetting is a method of blurring or otherwise dimming the outer edges of an image to increase focus on the subject. There can be great power in combining these theories into the art of photography. In drawing further focus to the subject of a photograph we allow a dialogue to take place between subject and viewer. We can create a singular dramatic moment from otherwise mundane subjects and allow that story to unfold, inspire, and inform.
